Monopoly Bid
Monopoly Bid is another fast play card game. It's made for 2-5 players. It features 32 action cards, 50 money cards and 28 property cards. The winner is the first player to complete 3 property sets.
To start the game, shuffle the property cards and place facedown in a pile. Shuffle the money and action cards together. Deal each player 5 cards, then place the rest of the cards facedown as the draw pile. The third pile will be the discard pile.
The youngest player is the first player. To begin a turn, all players draw one card. Then if it's your turn, you play as many action cards as you want. Then flip over the top property card and auction it.
To auction, each player chooses how much they will bid. The auctioneer will shout 1,2,3 BID. Then players reveal their cards face up. The highest bidder takes the property. If there is a tie no one wins and the property is placed at the bottom of the pile. Similarly, if no one bids on the property it's placed on the bottom of the property pile.
Each and every "turn" features a property auction. Hence the name Bid.
There are 4 possible action cards; wild, draw 2, steal and nope. Wild cards count as any property to make sets, these are very valuable. Beware other action cards maybe used to steal or cancel them. Draw 2 allows the player to draw 2 additional cards from the money/action pile. Steal allows the player to steal one property card from another player. However, complete property sets may not be stolen from. Nope cancels any action card and can be played at any time to cancel an opponents action. The cancelled action cards are placed in the discard pile.
The instructions also mention that players may make deals with other players to trade property at any time.
I thought this was a fun game to play. It was different then the other Monopoly card games I've written about so far. There is a lot of excitement with the auctions and action cards. I definitely recommend.
